Revolutionary Suicide by Huey P. Newton

5.0

4.5/5 it took me quite a while to realize he was talking about 愚公移山 at the end lol translating chinese proverbs always catches me off guard a bit. i think knowing the context i do as a result of various adjacent accounts (+ his 1980 doctoral thesis where he discusses the influence COINTELPRO operations had on intra- and inter-party fractures, and assata's autobiography where she discusses the paranoia that surrounded the newton-cleaver split), there are some parts of his analysis of the bpp and amerika at large that don't hold up over time. still an incredibly necessary account of huey's life & the revolutionary effort he devoted his life to supporting
