An Apology for the Life of Mrs. Shamela Andrews by Henry Fielding

3.0

Well! That was unexpected!
For every [b:Twilight|41865|Twilight (Twilight, #1)|Stephenie Meyer|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1361039443s/41865.jpg|3212258], there is [b:Nightlight: A Parody|6638377|Nightlight A Parody|The Harvard Lampoon|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1320519788s/6638377.jpg|6832814]...even in the 1740s!
Bawdy, vulgar, and occasionally laugh out loud funny, it almost makes up for reading [b:Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded|417549|Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded|Samuel Richardson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1387740117s/417549.jpg|2214950]. The more I think about it, the more funny I find it that someone felt the same way I did about Pamela, even back then! She's too obnoxious a heroine not to make fun of!
