Mary Poppins and the House Next Door by P.L. Travers

I bet you thought there was only one Mary Poppins story, didn't you? I bet you didn't realise there was actually six. Me neither. Not until I picked up [b:Mary Poppins: The Complete Collection|8891934|Mary Poppins The Complete Collection (Mary Poppins, #1-6)|P.L. So, when I saw this in the bookshop, and after getting over the surprise of there being six books, I bought it. As you would expect, there are tricks aplenty from the magical nanny and for such a short story, a lot was packed in. It's a great little read if you have a spare hour and you're a big kid like me. I loved it.
