House of Robots by Chris Grabenstein, James Patterson

5.0

Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez has to deal with bullies and the fact that his little sister has a disease that prevents her from attending school. She is the reason why "E", the robot that attends school, was created. Sammy's mom, Dr. Elizabeth Hayes, Robot Engineer at Notre Dame, invents robots to make life easier for her. This explains the title of the book and readers will enjoy all the different robots that help around the house. Sammy shows great admiration for his little sister and learns to appreciate "E" and his role of helping his family and friends. House of Robots is such a relevant story. I loved reading this book with my son (age 9). He was drawing and dreaming up ways he could have a his own bro-bot to take to school.
