Always and Forever, Lara Jean by Jenny Han

3.0

3.5 stars. A good conclusion to a fun series, and one that wrapped things up in a really lovely way. It's been nice to see Lara Jean grow into herself over the course of the series, and I felt excited for this new chapter of her life to begin as the book ended, which is always a good sign!

I agree with my friend Amy's review — I love Hamilton a lot, but there were definitely a LOT of Hamilton references in this book, and (as Amy said in her review) Hamilton isn't at the Harry Potter-esque level of "cultural saturation" where the references would feel normal. The series overall makes a lot of pop-culture references, but to lean SO HARD into Hamilton was kind of an interesting choice. IN A WAY I get it — the book was written during the musical's Extreme Heyday, and I definitely am as "into" the musical as the Song girls are. But it felt a LITTLE forced?

ASIDE FROM THAT, this book was enjoyable and the series was very sweet.
