A heartwarming read, and definitely to be experienced by all ages even though it may be advertised as a children’s book. Narrates very well the struggles of black americans in the early 1900s, and the motivation and strength that hope of family can bring. It’s easy to see a little of ourselves in Bud no matter where we come from.
