No Beast So Fierce: The Terrifying True Story of the Champawat Tiger, the Deadliest Animal in History by Dane Huckelbridge

4.0

It does sound weird that if someone loves tigers or want to learn about tigers, the first book I would suggest is the one where a tiger is shown as a villain (which, in this story, she was).

It has almost everything about flora and fauna of Terai (an area of marshy jungle near the Himalayan foothills). Dane Huckelbridge has worked really hard for the greatest story of what a man-wild conflict can do.

This books isn't just a story of a hunter and its prey. It is a collection of geographical aspects of the Himalayas and Terai, Social aspects of people living there, Details of origin of Panthera Tigris Tigris and how its course of life evolved from time to time, Explanation of what decades of mismanagement of environment and human interference in nature can bring with introduction of a great hunter-turned-conservator of tigers : Jim Corbett.

Should be read 'one chapter at a time' approach because the way topics shift from one chapter to another can make it less interesting. Dane has a great way with words where he can build tension or educate you like a child but the flow of story here can be found little weird.
