Big Rig by Louise Hawes

I picked this book up because the plot intrigued me and it was read by one of my favourite voice actors. It had some really great moments. But also moments that were incredibly cheesy. Like when the cat starts "singing" or the Hazmat talks to her dead mom. But that's my fault for reading something that's made for kids lol. Things like the grief that caused her father to be unable to take care of her for the first years of her life and the fear of growing up were themes that kept me interested. Easy and fun. It was like reading comfort food.
