Once I Was You: A Memoir of Love and Hate in a Torn America by María Hinojosa

challenging emotional funny hopeful informative inspiring reflective sad medium-paced

5.0

Pretty impressive to write a memoir that is also an exposé of American immigrant “policy.” Hinojosa is one of my local library’s featured author lectures this season, and I’m so glad because otherwise I might not have found this book.
