Endsinger by Jay Kristoff

Excuse me a moment while I wipe the tears from my eyes... *runs to get Kleenex*... So, as you might have guessed, this is a hard one to get through. Kristoff doesn't shy away from a body count, and I was basically weeping through the last 30 pages or so. But that just goes to show how invested I became in these characters, this world, and the trials that led to this epic showdown. And it was EPIC. There was barely any time to breathe from one page to the next, every ounce of action thrilling and heart-pounding and cinematic. There were crushing betrayals and unlikely alliances, tender romance and heart-wrenching sacrifices. And it was so, completely, totally worth it. I couldn't stop reading for the life of me and am even now struggling to process everything that happened and how I'm going to get through my day emotionally wrecked. But I LOVED this book. This entire series has been amazing, but this takes the cake and is exactly the kind of ending I wanted. I cannot recommend the LOTUS WAR books enough to lovers of fantasy, action, adventure, and everlasting friendships and sacrifices. Everyone and their dog needs these books in their lives. It might have brought me to tears, but it was worth it.
