The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram
5.0
Oh my goodness, this was so, so GOOD. I was really surprised. It was sweet and hilarious -- total pop-sugar confectionary heaven.
It was like Dumped By Popular Demand (one of my favourite books when I was a kid) amped up and older. I have such a soft spot for nerdy business.
Oram's voice is a little young. But it's all in good fun, and built up some adorable moments. Each one was a zany romp, and looking back, I wish I could live out Avery's life. Yeah, it was pretty shallow and surface-level at times, but the whole story was so cute that I forgave it. You need a fun, light-hearted read every now and then.
Avery was so innocent and clueless that it was almost maddening, but it made Grayson's perspective all that much better since we got to see him pull strings from the outside. Perhaps it was all a little easy and far-fetched, but if anyone is ever in need of a cheery pick-me-up, this adorable story is a winner.
