Not as many classic Sherlock Holmes tales in this collection as I remembered, and the ones I enjoyed most were definitely the ones I watched most frequently in the Granada Television series with Jeremy Brett (the one and only Holmes). In fact, reading the tales only impresses me more at how faithful those adaptations are; much of the dialogue is word for word from the text. Plus, you get to watch Jeremy Brett do things, whereas in the stories Watson just waits for Holmes to come home and tell him about things he did.
Favorites: “The Empty House,” “The Priory School,” “The Six Napoleons,” and “The Second Stain.”
