The Midnight Bargain by C.L. Polk

4.0

I loved this. This is about Beatrice who doesn’t want to get married, as she wants to be a sorceress. In this world, when women get married they have to wear a colour if they want kids. They all must get married during bargaining season to the most advantageous match. Beatrice becomes friends with another girl who’s a sorceress as well and falls for her brother. I liked seeing the friendship and how the magic worked in this society.
Really good book and I recommend it. Plus it’s a standalone! There’s not enough standalones in the fantasy/scifi genre.
