Berlin Interlude by María Negroni

emotional informative mysterious reflective fast-paced

4.25

I’d call this “fast poetry” - the language is less the focus than the imagery, which is a feature. Argentina is so full of cross-genre work, I’d hesitate to necessarily call it poetry, even. But it’s not a journal or a travelogue, even though it absolutely captures the Berlin I visited in 2023. These are, I suppose, zippy prose poems of feeling rather than allusion. It’s great and I’m heading to my local bookstore for more of Negroni’s work.
