What if Agatha Christie, but gayer? That's exactly this book, a MM romance wrapped in a cozy mystery (if it's okay to call murder "cozy"). James is a country doctor trying to do good in the world to assuage his guilt for being part of the war machine. Leo is a spy who hasn't told the truth in so long he's not sure if he actually can. The wounded and skittish men are thrown together to solve 2 murders that take place in the quiet village.
There is virtually no steam in this book, but the feelings and tenderness between the MCs still packs a wallop. I loved their flirtations and interactions throughout and found myself cheering them on the whole way. The side characters are quirky and were a lot of fun to read. I can't wait to jump into the next book.
