A weird book but it's sci fi so that's what I was expecting. The actual plot is a bit weird - I enjoyed the murder, seemed out of no-where but spiced the plot up a bit. The sexy animula was odd to say the least, guy was basically an incel and just needed to get out the house more. Antisemitic generalisations of Jewish people present - racism etc sadly not uncommon in literature of this era.
