The book was slow to start which usually does not bother me while reading a book, as I know fantasy usually take time to build, but this one was a a struggle to initially get through. Otherwise, I enjoyed the characters. I was frustrated that Brann died so early in the story with so many secrets that he needed to tell Estrella I think the story would have been better if Brann lived, but then again the storyline would not have progressed with Caelum otherwise. we well I had a feeling that Caelun was the Fae the entire time the reveal itself was very well done. I hope that Estrella can forgive him at some point in time and get over that Caelum/Caldris is in fact Fae and have a better understanding of the world around them and the war that happened to put up the Veil.
