I’ve always liked Rick Rubin as a kind of guy, existing in this pretty unique niche of producer/guru/almost-billionaire beatnik, and this book is almost exactly what I would’ve expected from him. That being said, as someone who doesn’t do any kind of art full time there’s not much to take away from it, and it becomes less charming than hearing him wax poetic in an interview.

Recommend if you’re artistically engaged, otherwise rather whimsical for nonfiction.
