Caleb Williams, the poor guy. half in love with Falkland and unable to know that's what it is - my favourite explanation for the fact Caleb just keeps on exonerating Falkland for unjustly accusing him of a crime he has no chance of defending himself against, because there were no witnesses except Falkland, and, well, Falkland is the upper class one here...

I think about this book so much. it is by no means perfect, but it haunts me, and for that it gets five stars
