Of Foster Homes and Flies by Chad Lutzke

5.0

What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be. I went into Of Foster Homes and Flies with little context other than the synopsis, so I anticipated that I was in for another dark and morbid tale. While the premise is rooted in the macabre, it never felt unconscionable, which resulted in a deep connection to the main character. The supporting characters are so well composed and thought out that it's incredible this book is as short as it is.

Is it too early to say I am a Chad Lutzke fan after only reading one book? Doubtful, but I have queued up Stirring in the Sheets, so time will tell ;)
