Overall, it goes hard. Has probably the strongest cast of characters and plot I've seen in a good while. It's funny and entertaining.

That isn't to say there aren't some highly problematic stuff in it, but I feel it's mostly a product of ignorance of the time during which it was written in. Still, even I went "woahh-" at some of the stuff.

As someone with a lot of religious trauma, this book (and the series) has been something really healing for me in a way. I appreciate it a lot. I love most of the characters too. They were gay and did crime.
