I really loved this book. I love cats and that's the reason why I started reading it, but it gave me so much more.

The relationship between Satoru and his cat Nana was so heartwarming. The fierceness but at the same time gentleness with which they love each other made me feel emotional. All their scenes were written so well and as someone who has a cat I found the voice of Nana so perfect.

The book got sad at the end but it never lost its overall message of spreading hope and love to everyone in your life.

I really appreciated the topics that the book touched on, especially the meaning of parenthood. The conversation on whether some people really are fit to and should be parents was so important in my opinion and handled well.

I found this book enjoyable, it made me smile, it made me tear up and it left me with an overwhelming sense of hope despite everything.
