Sunray Alice by Jeremy Hepler

4.0

If ever there was a horror comfort read, Sunray Alice is it.

I enjoyed the heck out of this read. Hepler doesn’t waste any words. Pared down, honest and raw, this coming of age story in small town wartime Texas will fill a nostalgic hollow you didn’t even know you had, reader. Reminiscent of King’s The Green Mile, Sunray Alice examines the good and bad in humanity, the immovable morality of a main character who is easy to cheer for and how normal people react when their world turns upside down.
