Defend the Dawn by Brigid Kemmerer
5.0

I told you all you can't trust anyone in this world!  Everyone is lying about everything!  These are actually some really fun spoilers -
sure we knew most of the people from Ostriary had to be lying about something, but I had fun with how it was all revealed.  Chaos, that's how.  It was just fun.  And just how out of control everything become back in Kandala!  I really like that Quint turned out to be as good as we assumed he was - he seemed to be the one person who wasn't lying or distrusting or anything.  And he was so perfect for Harristan!  Poor guy - I felt bad for him the whole time.  Talk about being out of your depth.  But he came into his own and it was really fun to watch.
What I really liked about this book was that it kind of didn't matter if the story line was predictable or not, it was told in a fun way that made me want to read how it all went down.  It was ridiculous and fun and just kept getting more and more interesting.  Thank goodness I don't have to wait for the next one from the library!
