I really enjoyed this book- it integrated tastes of stories and legends but was wholly original. The culture was built completely and believably. The characters and their interactions were well fleshed out. The story progressed well (though I wanted a bit more from the beginning but as I read on and events occurred, I realized how perfect the beginning was in its simplicity- great contrast).
I enjoyed the characters and am happy Takkan realized who she was on his own. I also liked that the brothers had different personalities and relationships with Shiori. I am happy Raikama didn’t end up being a bad guy and that Shiori realized and gave her a last chance at a relationship. I’m happy the brothers came around and honored her as well. But mostly I really like Takkan’s character and Shiori’s, especially how she grew and dealt with issues.
Great book and I’m looking forward to more.
