Poirot is a murder magnet.  He's retired and he's at a sea side resort with Hastings on holiday, but he still has a case finding him.

Peril at End House has Poirot encountering the snappy younger set of partiers visiting young Nick at End House so he takes the role of 'Papa Poirot' and delves into a protection situation.  Murder has been attempted multiple times, but hasn't succeeded.  Then, a gorgeous fireworks display over the beach is disrupted by a murder and Poirot's holiday is well and truly over.  He interviews all the players, inspects the old End House, and comes up with his famous list of odd questions that lead to the solution.  What a great whammy of a reveal.

Hugh Fraser, excellent series narrator, makes the story and characters come alive so well.

A golden plot with lots of good surprises.
