Like 3 stars even. I think this is the most frustrating in the series thus far. The conflict felt forced, less fabricated less natural, if feasible. Perhaps it’s because i don’t remember this one from childhood but i read it as less adventurous and lovely and more frustrating. Andrea is among the most dumb gullible people on this earth and while i understand her motivations i just found her to be the worst. I didn’t get as much time with chip and Katherine and Jonah who i love. And i feel that the treatment of Native American people was reductionist poor and lacking in nuance even for the period the text was written in. second is also just a really shitty villain to me. Exhausting and annoying him and Andrea. It’s hard to be excited for the next one after this one.
