The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup

3.0

The crime aspects and the atmosphere of this was really good and gripping. The dialogue and the characterization, not so much. There was a lot of telling instead of showing when it come to the characters and their relationship, and lots of place where the dialogue would abruptly stop and they would just sum up what was said. I still enjoy it because the crime elements were well done and it was a thrilling mystery, but outside of that it was a little lacking. Still would recommend though if you like crime novels without much depth beyond the crime itself.
