it was terrible. i was intrigued because it was bad, so bad that it was entertaining.

idk i felt like some things were so random and sudden with no explanation or smooth transition. i was like where tf did this come from? like i couldn’t take the book seriously half the time. and sometimes i thought the writing was a little cringey but i was still intrigued enough to keep reading.

i didn’t like how alex freaked out over their kiss and told her they wouldn’t do anything again and then literally like three chapter later, they do it again. like bruh that was so quick, put up a fight at least. stick to your word or don’t say that if you’re gonna fold the next time you guys have tension.

also their first time was so ??? like why are you going at it right after she had a panic attack? and alex should’ve groveled for more. idc. he did not grovel enough, ik the book said that he groveled for a year but she only gave us the first month of his groveling so it didn’t feel like he groveled enough. ik ana can’t write the entire year of groveling but it was still underwhelming. after what he did? he should’ve groveled for more honestly. not satisfied.

but that singing scene had me close the book and run a lap. i don’t really have an opinion on ava and alex rn but i’m excited to see them in the other books bc i heard that alex is better in the other books. but this book wasn’t life changing, i have many complaints and many questions. it was just there. i think i have my expectations too high for this series.
