The first half of this dragged for me with a bigger focus on the Civil War but found the latter half much more interesting since it felt more focused on Faulkner's actual work. I wish there was a deeper grappling with Faulkner's literary legacy against some awful views he had later in life since it felt like it was only briefly discussed at the end.
