The Furry Trap by Josh Simmons

5.0

"Demonwood" gave me anxiety. It touches on a kind of nightmarish, existential horror that I just don't experience often. His other book, House, gave me that feeling too.
"Cockbone" is an example of body horror that rivals films such as The Thing, Society, and The Re-Animator in it's depictions of graphic bodily harm.
The other stories, like his take on Batman and "Night of the Jibblers" are strong, but I think these two stand above the rest.

If you are a fan of things that make you squirm or feel sad or give you existential angst, this is the book for you.
