4.25/5. Reading this story made me feel like I am reading about someone’s real life throughout the years. At first when I picked it up, I didn’t understand where this book was headed but I liked it nonetheless. Overall, this book is just about pain, love, and most of all forgiveness. I don’t remember if I have ever read a book that is about forgiveness and I am so glad that I read it. The story feels so real. The characters feel so real and the author did an amazing job at making the readers feel that way. It reminded me that life isn’t black and white. The character development of each one of them is amazing, especially Francis and Anne’s. I’m happy for her especially. My fave character is George. This book didn’t make me feel bored (it took me four days to read because I was just lazy and wanted to watch YouTube videos). So yeah.

Also, I loved the representation of being an alcoholic and its effects to your family. I recognized some things similar to my own experiences.
