Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price

4.0

This is one of those books I save for gloomy rainy days when I can curl up with a hot cup of tea and lose myself in a cozy story. It's not overly complicated, and is pretty simple compared to other romances or murder mysteries -but I actually like that about it. Once I started reading, I found I couldn't put the book down. Tirzah Price's writing style is one of the most enjoyable that I've found among new writers in the past five or so years.

My main complaint with the novel is that the murder-mystery felt rushed and simplified for what it was, but given that this isn't purely a murder mystery, I didn't mind too much.

If you're a Pride and Prejudice fan, and you want to see the characters in a different style of story and just have a nice cozy and fun read, this may be the book for you.

If you're looking for a re-imagined version that strictly follows not only historical accuracy but also a more "serious" murder mystery, this book ISN'T for you.
