Pack of Lies by Vanessa Vaughn

4.0

4 & 1/2 out of 5 stars!

It had been a while since I had read a M/M romance and when I received a request to read and review “Pack of Lies” I jumped at the chance and realized that I didn’t even know I was craving this kind of romance.

Jack is going back home with his best friend when he runs over what he thinks is a person, only to run into a wolf. The wolf is actually Marcus in his wolf form and since it’s during the full moon, he finds himself rabid and in hunt mode.

Jack and his friend get bitten and discover a short time after that their lives will never be the same again, when they start feeling the wild pull of the pack and the moon.

Marcus is gay, but he cannot even fathom the possibility of letting his pack know. As the Alpha it’s his job to keep things balanced, but Julian, the man who was supposed to be the Alpha by blood and family right and blames Marcus for having that right taken away from him, will stop at nothing until he has the power that is owed to him.

Jack has never felt attracted to men before, that is until his mental and physical connection to Marcus deepens more and more each day, making their attraction and the danger they suffer because of it too strong to be ignored.

I loved this book. It was a very quick read and I just wanted to read more and more about Marcus and Jack. They are two very hot men and I loved seeing their Alpha personalities battling out, specially in bed. I just wish we had a chance to see more scenes of them in bed together, these two were hot!

Vaughn’s werewolf mythology was far from romancified, her wolves are cruel, bloodthirsty and have no compulsion about killing humans. However, even though I felt disgusted by the pack in general, Marcus was plenty lovable and that is just a perfect reflection of the great job Vanessa Vaughn did in creating his character.

If you enjoy reading M/M paranormal romance, I definitely recommend Pack of Lies to you! Romance, Wolves, Alpha males, sexy M/M smexing and a lot of action! What is not to love! I sure hope this becomes a series and I really want a sequel with Jack and Marcus, because I can’t help but want to follow more of their story!
