The Can Opener's Daughter by Rob Davis

5.0

This book shifts the pacing a lot from The Motherless Oven, and offers a lot more clarity than The Motherless Oven does, and gets us on the way to figuring out wtf is going on with the world of The Bear Park (which is a good thing particularly because The Book of Forks throws us into the deep end in terms of giving shape & "Sense" to the universe). This also really makes a frightening figure in Vera's mother, the Weather Clock, and one of the more wholesome and cute characters in her father, a can opener.
