I assumed this would be a lot darker to be honest - maybe that’s on me, my tolerance is so high, I have no triggers, nothing fazes me, I was ready to get dark and twisty. What it delivered wasn’t that. Also noticed it was a novella after I’d started, they aren’t my first choice as I get right into what I’m reading and get so mad when it ends too early
