Copper by Kazu Kibuishi

4.0

I ended up enjoying this more than I thought I would! I read Flight a few years ago and hated it but read a few volumes of Amulet and really enjoyed it so I figured I would give this a shot since I’m trying to read more graphic novels this year. Other than the piece featured in Flight, I hadn’t read any of the Copper comics before so I didn’t realize that most of them were single page comics. I actually really enjoyed the shortness of them as well as their emotional significance. Kibuishi is able to handle such complex topics with ease - it was quite comforting! I also really enjoyed the sense of consistency between comics with some repeat characters. Overall, a great read! Made for some relaxing reading material amongst the heaviness of my finals and final projects.
