I Hate Men by Pauline Harmange

inspiring fast-paced

3.0

This essay in book form was nearly banned in France merely because of the emphatic title. However, I Hate Men is not a book about why the author hates men. Not really. Instead, I Hate Men is a call for global female solidarity. Harmange puts forth that most women have spent their lives ingesting culture created by men. Why not better all of our lives by having women say "enough!" and begin to focus primarily on centering the creations of other women?

I appreciated a lot of Harmange's points and her unique, conversational tone. However, I ultimately felt that this essay was just a fresh spin on tried and true feminist ideas.
