like 4.5 stars! i love YA series like i love disney channel shows in that they take you on an adventure quickly and coherently and tightly and perfectly. to write like that, with an understanding of your audience such that you know what they need to take and what should get left behind, such that you can take them on an adventure without losing them in the sauce of semantic bs, is a gift. this book does that really well. an example of a sequel better than the original, it demands the reader learn but also teaches them, it brings humor and hilarity and fear and heart and it does it all in a mechanism that would be desirable to both a 6th grader and myself. that is a talent. this was such a fun read. such a perfect little adventure. and with a happy ending and a perfect lead up for the next book. what else could i ask for !
