Major Impossible: A Grand Canyon Tale by Nathan Hale

4.0

Always a winner with Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales!!
I learned quite a bit about a subject I had never heard of. I haven't put a ton of thought into how places are mapped and explored so I really enjoyed reading about Powell's journey down the Colorado River. I have a life long goal of white water rafting and my interest was piqued even more after reading this.
The backstory about Walter Powell was heartbreaking as well as the conclusion of the brothers and Dunn who departed the party.
I loved how Hale added and illustrated the letter from the other guy (can't remember his name) who also voyaged down the Colorado.
My son, who is as avid a Hale reader as myself, found the flashbacks confusing. I told him to give this one another try in a few months. It's definitely worth a read!
