Jake and the Other Girl by Emmy Laybourne

3.0

When Jake goes to look for anyone at the hospital who can help, he finds messages from people seeking loved ones. One message is from Lindsay, the girl that Jake cheated on Amber with and he decided to find out if she is still alive. He sets out on the journey to her house, not sure what he'll find or what dangers lurk on the roads.

While I found the story interesting, I really started to despise Jake a little here. We see his true motivations and how everything he does is selfish and for his own ends. He doesn't really care about Lindsay-just wants to have sex with her again to prove he hasn't gone sterile. He doesn't want to save her or bring her to safety as that might be awkward with Amber being there. And of course, priority number one is to find the drugs that he dropped. The guy is a total loser and you can see why Amber is having seconds thoughts about Dean in comparison to this idiot.

It was a good story, filling in the gap about what Jake did when he left the store and his reasons for going back to the group.
