Thank You for Being Late: An Optimist's Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations
by Thomas L. Friedman
a lot of interesting theories are presented, which make the book worth reading. This is hardly an "optimists guide" with bleak outlooks from automaton to climate change and very little optimism. most of the book is how bad things could get.
I think the author intended the final chapters about his hometown in Minnesota to be the optimism, but it really seems more like he's just reminiscing about days gone by.
