New York Burning: Liberty, Slavery, and Conspiracy in Eighteenth-Century Manhattan by Jill Lepore

i read this book for a class so i don't want to rate it, given the fact that part of me will always resent books that i'm assigned to read, but i found this a particularly interesting glimpse into a historical event that many would rather have kept under wraps, especially given the fact that we continually see this pattern of targeting disenfranchised groups. i wrote a whole paper about this so i don't have much else left to say, but the paper was really good. take my word for it.
