Saint Joan of the Stockyards by Bertolt Brecht

4.0

read this in preparation for visiting the apartment where brecht lived with helene weigel in berlin.
loved the way he puts religious idealism up against capitalist pragmatism and plays off the tensions between the two, the satirism cutting both ways. i think i need to read up more on the historical context to fully comprehend (the critical introduction in my copy is way lacking), but yeah, bring on the brecht.
