I have started this book multiple times in the past and for some reason never gotten past a certain point. This time I pushed myself onward and I’m glad I did.
This was a fun and thrilling mystery that hooked me in with every twist and turn once the main plot of the book got going. Although towards the very end of the book it felt a little too much like a soap opera with it’s wild revelations.
I will say that there isn’t a ton of character development and the relationship angle between the main character Robert Langdon and the female main character Vittoria Vetra wasn’t really there. They seemed to make better partners and equals than romantic partners. It felt a little too forced.
I know there’s also a lot of doubt claims of inaccurate information reading the history and legends surrounding the Illuminati and other historical figures mentioned so I tried to take all of that in more as historical fiction than historical fact.
All in all this was what I expected and wanted from this novel. It was a fun action adventure that moved along at a pretty decent pace.
