once I captured the vibe (which was less dark than I was expecting), I enjoyed this. I started reading the next one—focused around Beast Boy—which I’m enjoying more, so I’m thinking this one reads a little like a pilot episode. not bad by any means, but a little underwhelming. plus, Raven is one of my favorite characters, so maybe my expectations were too steep. I have generally loved Teen Titans for a long time, so I’m going to hold on to this series and see where it goes. it has the potential to be something pretty sick imo.
