Oh my skies, I'm in love with this series!
This time, Elias and Laia are on the run from the Trials and heading toward Kauf prison to break Darin out. There will be many people who will join them in this very dangerous journey. The threat of the Commandant is always looming and she does something to Elias that will become his doom (no!!! But also, still very much interested in how it will turn out in the next 2 books).
I love getting Helene's POV here. She is experiencing her own battles of having to be the Blood Shrike and deal with Marcus and his threat to her family. The Nightbringer has been such a mystery and when it's revealed 😲. The end of this book was exciting and tense too. The last paragraph 🥹
