In the Hour of Crows
by Dana Elmendorf
mysterious
medium-paced
This was a little bit spooky, magical, and mysterious. Amazing atmosphere that had me fully immersed in the story...and that ending.... Do we get MORE? I would really like more!
Weatherly comes from a line of death talkers - they can talk death out of someone so that they live.. But there are rules to it too. Her cousin recently died and though ruled an accident, she believes it was murder.
Now after not being able to save someone, people of this small town are even more suspicious of her and won't believe anything else about her cousin's death. But I loved how determined and not deterred she was. I love the help of the mysterious Rook- half his life as a man/half as a crow. I'm grateful for Davis and Oscar who both help in their own ways for Weatherly to find out what she needs to.
