Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor
5.0
Addie was a hero for me. She had a difficult family life. Her mother seemed to be manic/depressive and quite immature. Her ex-step-father cares, but has no parental rights. Add to this financial problems. Fortunately, she is fairly level-headed herself. She bounces back time after time and keeps looking for the silver lining. She hopes, but doesn't just rely on her hope. She is willing and able to work towards her goals. This was one of those emotional books, but not in a syrupy gooey way. I didn't feel manipulated as a reader. Excellent!
