Looking to Score by Alley Ciz

5.0

After reading The Royalty Crew I knew as soon as I had spare time I would be diving into her other books.

I quickly became immersed in this world and had no thoughts of leaving the #UofJ world until I read every word.

Kay is sassy, sarcastic, and closed off, she doesn’t allow people in, and to be honest her reasoning was solid. I loved her so hard, and even more so with every word. Her relationship with her brother and his wife melted my heart, and the whole backstory made my heart ache but their reactions to their tragedy soothed the ache immensely.

Kay was about family, above all, and while many of them weren’t family by blood it didn’t make it any less true.

Mason was a football star and playboy, cocky and charming, and as soon as he realized Kay wasn’t falling for his lines or his swoony charm, he was nothing short of smitten. Kay puts up a good fight, turning him down, but what’s a girl to do when the charming football star isn’t giving up the pursuit.

Mason and Kay had an instant sizzle between them. As Mason continued to try and win a chance at scoring Kay the banter between them and the lengths Mason was going to ignited that sizzle into an inferno of chemistry.

Slow burn, SLOW BURN, it needed to be said in that tone. The witty banter and sarcastic quips became foreplay between Mason and Kay, and there’s many exchanges between them, to the point you could feel the moment the tension that had been building from the moment they met was going to snap.

Alley Ciz wove together a spellbinding story that will have you transfixed from start to finish. An enthralling blend of a tension fueled slow-burn, a cocky, charming alpha, a sassy heroine, witty banter, secondary characters that up the level of entertainment, an array of feels from giggles to angst, and a cliffhanger that will knock you over but as soon as you recover you will download the next book.
